The Denver Broncos have signed veteran free agent linebacker Keith Brooking. The 15-year pro played his last three seasons in Dallas after an oustanding 11-year run in Atlanta, where his was the Falcons No. 1 draft pick in 1998. The Broncos open up the preseason schedule Thursday night when at Chicago.

Kevin Durant scored 28 points, 17 during a stunning, long-range shooting display in the third quarter, as the U.S. Olympic Men's Basketball team roared into the medal round with a 126-97 win over Argentina Tuesday night. Team USA will play Australia in Wednesday's quarterfinals.

Alex Morgan headed in the game-winner in injury time of extra time to give the United States a thrilling 4-3 win over Canada in Women's Soccer semifinals at the Olympics. The U.S. women next play Japan Thursday in the gold medal game in a rematch of last year's World Cup final won by Japan on penalty kicks.
