The Colorado Rockies have hired Walt Weiss as their new manager to replace Jim Tracy. Weiss played 14 seasons in the majors, winning a World Series with Oakland, and playing with the Rockies. Weiss was a member of the 2007 Rockies team that lost to Boston in the World Series. Weiss was the head baseball coach at Regis Jesuit High School in Colorado and previously worked for the Rockies as a roving minor league instructor.

The Wyoming Cowboys are on the road this Saturday afternoon when they play New Mexico. The Pokes are 2-7 after defeating Colorado State in the Border War 45-31 last Saturday. Kickoff is at 1:30pm and you can hear that game on AM 1030 KTWO.

The Casper College Volleyball team has advanced to the National Tournament in West Plains, Missouri next week. The T-Birds are 23-17 and are seeded 13th in the tournament and will meet San Jacinto, Texas in their first round match next Thursday at 2:00pm. San Jacinto is 32-2 on the year and at times this season was ranked number one in the country. Although they're the 4th seed in the national tournament. Casper will host the National JUCO Volleyball tournament from 2013-2015 at the Casper Events Center.

Wyoming's high school football championship games will be played Friday and Saturday at War Memorial Stadium at the University of Wyoming in Laramie. On Friday at noon in  6-Man, Snake River (9-1) vs Dubois (10-0). At 3:00pm, Powell (10-0) vs Star Valley (9-1). On Saturday morning at 10:00, Lyman (10-0) vs Lovell (9-1). At 1:00pm, Southeast (6-3) and Lusk (10-0). And the 4A championship at 4:00pm has Natrona (11-0) and Gillette (10-1).
