The Colorado Rockies all of a sudden are looking like a real team, as they beat the New York Mets 6-2 Tuesday night. Former Casper pitcher Jhoulys Chacin held the Mets to one run and 4 hits in 6 innings of work.Chacin has not pitched since May 1st due to inflammation in his right shoulder. Former Casper player Dexter Fowler drove in a couple of runs as the Rockies have won 3 in a row. The Mets have lost 3 in a row. The Rockies and Mets play game 3 of their series tonight in the Big Apple.

The Wyoming Cowboy football team will have a short scrimmage today in Laramie. Fall camp going quickly as they prepare for the upcoming season. In Saturday's scrimmage, Junior receiver Robert Herron opened some eyes with his speed. He had 4 receptions for 89 yards including a 69 yard touchdown and also ran the ball a couple of times for positive yardage. The Cowboys open the season on Saturday Sept. 1st when they travel to take on the Texas Longhorns.

In the NFL, running back Clinton Portis is calling it quits, nearly 2 years after playing his last game. Portis played 2 seasons with the Denver Broncos and then 7 more with the Washington Redskins. The 'Skins cut Portis after a torn groin muscle ended his season back in 2010. He's 77 yards short of 10,000 career rushing yards, 27th on the NFL's all-time list..

The High School Prep Game of the week is back on AM 1400 ESPN starting this Friday night. Preseason Number one Natrona will travel to Cheyenne South. Pregame show is at 6:45pm with kickoff at 7:00pm. Kelly Walsh opens up the season also in Cheyenne when they play at East.
