The Colorado Rockies took the opening series by beating the Milwaukee Brewers in the rubber game Wednesday night 7-3 in Milwaukee. The Rockies took 2 of 3 in this opening series of the 2013 season. Rockies pitcher Juan Nicasio with 6 good innings of work, as he allowed 2 runs on 7 hits. Colorado had another good night of hitting the long ball with home runs by Wilen Rosario, Dexter Fowler and Michael Cuddyer. The Rockies have today off and will have their home opener Friday night at Coors Field when the host the San Diego Padres.

The Denver Nuggets beat the Utah Jazz 113-96 Wednesday night in Salt Lake City. Danilo Gallinari led the Nuggets with 21 points. The Nuggets with the win are 51-24 with 7 games remaining in the regular season are battling Memphis for a spot in the top half of the bracket and home court advantage.

In high school soccer, both the Natrona teams are in action tonight. The Fillies are 3-1-1 and are at Riverton. The Mustangs are 1-4 and will host Riverton. The Mustangs are 1-0 heading into tonight's west region matchup. Tonight's match with the Wolverines from Cheney Alumni Field is at 6:00pm. The Kelly Walsh teams are in action Friday with the boys at Rock Springs and the girls hosting Rock Springs.

In men's college basketball, Rutgers fired Head Coach Mike Rice after a video that aired on ESPN showed him shoving, grabbing and throwing balls at players in practice. The video elicited some sharp criticism, some of that coming from New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. Rice was largely unsuccessful in 3 seasons with Rutgers. The university's administration was given a copy of the video in November and then suspended Rice for 3 games and fined him $50,000.
