UNDATED (AP) - Swiss rookie Damien Brunner scored in the fourth round of the shootout to lead the Detroit Red Wings to a 4-3 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Brian Lashoff scored in his NHL debut and fellow defenseman Ian White also scored for Detroit, which finally got on the board twice in the second period after being humiliated 6-0 in their opener on Saturday night in St. Louis. Pavel Datsyuk had a goal to send the game into overtime with 6 minutes remaining in overtime, and also had an assist.

Cam Atkinson, James Wisniewski and Vinny Prospal scored goals during regulation for Columbus, which was coming off a 3-2 shootout win at Nashville on Saturday night.

Elsewhere around the NHL;

— Ryan Getzlaff and Daniel Winnick each scored their second goals of the game in the third period as Anaheim edged Calgary 5-4. Curtis Glencross had two goals for the Flames.

— Jason Pominville had a goal and an assist to lead Buffalo to a 2-1 win over Toronto. Ryan Miller turned aside 34 shots and lost his shutout when Nazem Kadri scored on the last of the Maple Leafs seven power plays with 1:42 to go.

— Craig Anderson made 31 saves to lead Ottawa to a 4-0 win over Florida in the Senators home opener. Kyle Turris scored a pair of goals in the win.

— David Ullstrom gave the Islanders a 4-goal lead early in the third period and they withstood a furious comeback to edge Tampa Bay 4-3. The Lightning scored three goals in a 5 ½ minute stretch to make it close.

— T.J. Oshie and Alexander Steen scored the only goals in the shootout to lead St. Louis to a 4-3 win over Nashville. It's the second straight shootout loss for the Predators.

—Tyler Seguin (SAY'-gihn) and Patrice Bergeron (pah-TREES' BEHR'-zhehr-ahn) scored in the shootout to lift the Boston Bruins to a 2-1 win over Winnipeg. Brad Marchand had the regulation goal for the 2-0 Bruins. Tuukka Rask (TOO'-kah rask) made 26 saves in regulation and held the Jets to only Blake Wheeler's score in the shootout.
