Wyoming Cowboy Head Football Coach Dave Christensen says it's highly unlikely that quarterback Brett Smith will play this Saturday afternoon against Cal Poly in Laramie. Smith suffered a concussion when he was horse collared  and fore-armed in the 4th quarter in their 34-31 loss to Toledo last Saturday.

So it looks like Junior Colby Kirkegaard will get the start on Saturday. He entered the Toledo game after Smith was carted off after his injury.

The Wyoming Cowboy men's basketball team has re-instated forward Leonard Washington. He was suspended back in April after an off campus incident led to his arrest of battery and criminal entry charges. But Washington has met criteria for reinstatement laid down by Head Coach Larry Shyatt and the Pokes can certainly  use him. Washington averaged 12 points and close to 7 rebounds a game last season and was named 2nd team All-Mountain West Conference. Washington was fined and given probation for both the battery and criminal entry charges.

The Colorado Rockies blew a 4 run lead and lost to the San Francisco Giants Tuesday night 9-8. Giant pitcher Madison Bumgarner hit a 3 run homer as the Giants extended their lead in the National League West Division to 6 games over Los Angeles.
