Tiger Woods is returning to competitive golf this week. He's planning on playing at the Firestone Tournament in Akron Ohio. Woods played nine practice holes on Tuesday. This will be his first tournament in three months after dealing with lingering leg injuries. Woods is currently ranked out of the top 20 for the first time since 1997 at 28th. He hasn't won a tournament since November of 2009.

The Casper Ghosts are on a roll, winning their fourth straight Tuesday night, 4-1 over Idaho Falls. Rosell Herrera had four hits, Will Swanner with a two RBI's. Jose Rivera and Francisco Sosa also contributed with RBI's for the Ghosts. Daniel Winkler gave Casper an outstanding pitching performance, giving up a run and three hits while striking out five to improve to 2-1 on the year. The Ghosts are 3-0 in the second half and now open up a six game homestand at Mike Lansing Field starting tonight with Ogden (0-3). The Colorado Rockies were shut down by the Philadelphia Phillies Tuesday night at Coor's Field 5-0. Phillies pitcher Kyle Kendrick struck out 11 Colorado batters and Ryan Howard homered twice. Philadelphia with baseball's best record has now won five straight. The Rockies with the loss are seven games under .500. The two teams wrap up that series this afternoon.

The Wyoming Cowboys return to campus in Laramie in preparation for fall football practice with the first scheduled session at 3:00 pm Thursday. The Cowboys will hold 27 practices  leading up to the Pokes first game on Saturday Sept. 3rd when they host Weber State. This year's camp will have scrimmages earlier and one more scrimmage added to the schedule.
