I've lived in Wyoming for 25 years and have never seen, nor heard of anything like this happening. Apparently ladybugs migrate up into the Black Mountain area of Albany county.

The reason for doing this is so they can wait out the winter months and then come back down and go back to work laying their eggs and working in the fields.

So just for fun I went and found a PBS video on YouTube that gives you a more in-depth look at what ladybugs do in their day to day lives. Who knew they were such interesting little bugs.

And Wheatland has literally been overrun by thousands of these little guys. To be honest with you, I kind of wish that Casper got invaded by ladybugs instead of grasshoppers this summer. Cause I've had several grasshoppers give me a mini-stroke while walking to and from my car.
