Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon is denouncing the "reprehensible" message spread by the person or persons who put up white nationalist posters this week in Cheyenne.

The posters, which Gordon said appeared in the capital city Wednesday, are offensive and misquote the Wyoming Constitution, he explained.

"Our constitution is clear and I stand behind its tenets. Article 1, Section 2 reads, 'In their inherent right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, all members of the human race are equal.'"

"The United States Constitution protects our fundamental right to freedom of speech and I will always stand up for that," Gordon said. "Messages like this that appear anonymously are not only reprehensible, but largely ineffective."

Gordon also commended the person who brought the posters to the public's attention.
