Wyoming's two state America Legion baseball champions are in regional play. State AA champion Cheyenne begins their action in the Northwest Regional in Billings. Post 6 (40-32) will take on Bellevue, Washington in the second game of the tournament today.

Class A champion Wheatland is in the Northwest Regional in Burley, Idaho. The Loboes (29-19) will play the host team Burley Friday night at 7:30pm.

Chad Billingsley shrugged off an inside-the-park home run by Eric Young Jr. on his fourth pitch of the game to win his fourth straight start as the Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies 6-4 Wednesday night to avoid a three-game sweep by baseball's worst pitching staff. Matt Kemp helped the Dodgers by hitting a three-run homer. The Rockies have today off before starting a weekend series at San Francisco Friday night.

In the London Olympics, Kerri Walsh Jennings and Misty-May Treanor of the U.S. won their 3rd Olympic gold medal in Women's Beach Volleyball. They defeated fellow Americans April Ross and Jennifer Kessy 21-16, 21-16.

World record holder Ashton Eaton of the U.S. is the leader after five events of the decathlon. And world champion Trey Hardee of the U.S. is sitting in second place.

The PGA Championship is under way at Kiawah Island, South Carolina. Tiger Woods is trying for his 15th Major Championship and first since 2008. This year's three Major Champions, Bubba Watson (Masters), Webb Simpson (U.S. Open) and Ernie Els (British Open) will play together in the first two rounds.
