The Evansville Police Department has confirmed the identity of the man who was arrested following Saturday's standoff at a home near 5th and Williams.

Levi Massmann, 28, was booked into the Natrona County Detention Center on charges including aggravated assault, felon in possession of a firearm, reckless endangering, unlawful entry into an occupied structure and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Massman is expected to make his initial appearance in Natrona County Circuit Court at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Massman was confirmed as the suspect by Police Chief Mike Thompson in a phone interview with K2 Radio News.

The standoff, which lasted over two hours, began after a report of shots fired at 291 5th Street at 2:38 p.m.

Responding officers arrived and heard another gunshot, Thompson told reporters at the scene Saturday. Law enforcement officers from several agencies including the Casper Police Department and Natrona County Sheriff's Office established a perimeter.

Several nearby homes were evacuated, while other residents were told to shelter in place for the duration of the standoff.

Thompson said Massman was apparently walking in the attic of the home and fell through the ceiling. Officers were then able to persuade him to surrender.

Authorities searched the home after taking Massman into custody Saturday.

A booking photo of Massman was not immediately available.
