There are quite of few of the possibilities for teams making the playoffs and for those in the playoffs that can go up or down. The Wyoming playoffs being for the five divisions on Friday October 28th.

Thanks to John Gabrielsen of Wyopreps.com and Kevin Koile of  Townsquare Media for putting this together.

Here are UNOFFICIAL playoff scenarios from Wyopreps.com.

4A Football

4A: The top 4 seeds are locked in and can not be changed. #1 is Natrona, #2 is Sheridan, #3 is Gillette and #4 is East. NC is at Gillette and Sheridan travels to East, but the outcomes of these 2 games will not change their position in the bracket.

As for Evanston and Central, they are jockeying for #5 and #6…E-town gets the #5 seed with a win home vs. Laramie OR a Central loss. Central needs a win home vs. KW AND an Evanston loss to get the #5 seed.

That leaves Rock Springs, Laramie and Kelly Walsh for the #7 and #8 seeds:

All 3 win OR all 3 lose…Rock Springs is #7 due to win over East. Laramie gets #8 due to head-to-head over KW. KW is out.

2 teams win, 1 team loses…the team that lost is out due to having worse record. Apply head-to-head tie-breaker for the 2 winners.

RS wins, Laramie AND KW lose…RS is #7, and Laramie is #8 due to head-to-head. KW is out.

Laramie wins, Rock Springs AND KW lose…Laramie is #7 and KW is #8 due to head-to-head. RS is out.

KW wins, RS AND Laramie lose…KW is #7 and RS is #8 due to head-to-head. Laramie is out.

3A Football

A East: Douglas is top seed and will host the Worland-Cody winner. Lander is the 2 seed with a win home vs. Riverton. This would make Buffalo #3 and Riverton #4. If Riverton wins AND Buffalo loses, Riverton #2, Lander #3, Buffalo #4. If Riverton AND Buffalo win, there’s a 3-way for the 2, 3, 4 seeds.

3A West: GR gets #1 seed with win home vs. Powell. The Panthers can get the #1 seed with a win AND a Star Valley loss to Jackson. If Powell and SV both win, there’s a 3-way tie.

The Worland-Cody winner is in and will travel to Douglas.

2A Football

2A East…we know what 4 teams are in, but we don’t know what order yet. Glenrock can get the #1 seed, with a win home vs. Moorcroft. The Big Horn-Newcastle winner is assured of no worse than the #2 seed, but will get the #1 seed if Glenrock loses. The Big Horn-Newcastle loser is #3. Burns is the #4 seed no matter what. The Broncs would lose head-to-head vs. the Big Horn-Newcastle loser, and a 3-way with Burns, Glenrock and the BH-Newcastle doesn’t do the Broncs any good either. Glenrock would win a 3-way due to having head-to-head vs. BH-Newcastle winner, and Burns loses head-to-head vs. BH-Newcastle loser.

2A West: Lovell is the number 1 seed and will host Burns in the first round.

The Greybull-Lyman winner is the #2 seed, and will host the Big Horn-Newcastle loser. Thermopolis and Kemmerer will be keeping an eye on Greybull-Lyman because the outcome of that game will have an effect on their playoff fate.

If Greybull wins: Greybull is #2, Lyman is #3. Thermop would have the inside track on the #4 seed due to head-to-head over Kemmerer. The Bobcats would then only need a win at Pinedale, OR a Kemmerer loss home vs. Mountain View. Kemmerer would need a win AND a Thermopolis loss.

If Lyman wins: Lyman is #2. Greybull gets #3 if Kemmerer loses (Thermop would be #4, regardless of their outcome). Greybull gets #4 if Kemmerer wins AND Thermop loses (Kemmerer #3, Thermop Out)

A Greybull loss combined with a Thermop and a Kemmerer win creates a 3-way. All lost to Lovell, all lost to Lyman, the 3 beat each other, all beat MV, Pinedale and Big Piney. 3-way play-in game at a neutral site on Tuesday, October 25th. 2 get in, 1 goes home.

1A Football

1A East: Southeast is top seed, with Lusk at #2. Lingle-Ft. Laramie is 3-2, Pine Bluffs is 3-3, and Sundance is 2-3. Lingle is at SE  and Sundance is home vs. NSI.        If Lingle wins OR if Sundance loses, the Doggers AND Pine Bluffs are in as 3 and 4 seeds, and Sundance misses out (Bulldogs lose head-to-head vs. PB). A Lingle loss AND a Sundance win, forces a 3-way tie and the teams will gather at a neutral site to play each other again.

1A West: Cokeville and Riverside are the top 2 seeds. There is a possible 3-way tie  with Shoshoni, Saratoga, and Burlington for the last 2 spots (see 1A east with Lingle, PB, Sundance).    Shoshoni is home vs. WIHS on Thursday, Saratoga is at Rocky Mountain and Burlington is at Cokeville. Wind River has a very slim chance to crash the party, but they’ll have to do it through a 3-way or a 4-way. First off, the Cougars have to win home vs. Riverside. Then they also need Burlington AND Saratoga to lose.    That would force the 3-way.

Six Man Football

(#4N) Meeteetse-Hulett winner at (#1S) Little Snake River
(#3S) H.E.M. at (#2N) Kaycee-Ten Sleep winner
(#3N) Kaycee-Ten Sleep loser at (#2S) Midwest
(#4S) Farson-Eden at (#1N) Dubois
