All four playoffs games continue today and tonight with the league championship series set to begin this weekend. In the American League, New York now has a 2 games to 1 lead over Baltimore with 3-2 win in 12-innings. Raul Ibanez hit a home run in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game and then hit another home run in the bottom of the 12th to win it. Coming into the game, the Orioles were 76-0 this season when leading after the 7th inning and had won 16 extra inning games this season. The Yankees can wrap up the series with a win tonight.

In the other ALDS series, Oakland rallied with 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th inning to beat Detroit 4-3 to even that best of 5 series at 2 apiece. Former Casper player Seth Smith tied the game with a 2 run double. Coco Crisp delivered an RBI single to win it for the A's. The decisive 5th game is tonight.

In the National League Divisional Series, San Francisco has climbed out of a 2 games to none deficit by winning the next 2 games on the road, beating Cincinnati 8-3 Wednesday. The Giants hit 3 home runs in the game. No team has won a best of 5 series by winning the last 3 games on the road. Game 5 is today.

Washington played its first home post season game in 79 years on Wednesday afternoon and were drilled by St. Louis 8-0. Pete Kozma with a 3 run homer for the Cardinals who lead the series 2 games to one. Game four is this afternoon.

And on the NASCAR Circuit, Dale Earnhardt Jr.  will miss the next 2 Chase for the Cup races after suffering  a concussion in that 25 car pile up at Talladega last weekend. Earnhardts Jr. was running in 11th place in the Sprint Cup standings, 51 points behind Brad Keslowski.
