The Casper Oilers split a doubleheader with Hit-Streak of Colorado in American Legion baseball on Tuesday at Mike Lansing Field. The Oilers lost the first game 12-10 despite  the fact that they scored 5 times in the bottom of the first and led by 6 in the 3rd inning. Tanner Fischer drove in 3 runs but the Oilers also committed 6 errors. Casper came back to win the nightcap 14-4, thanks to 8 runs in the 4th inning. Cam Huber homered and drove in 4 runs as the Oilers improve to 14-7 on the season. They'll have a road game on Friday night in Brighton, Colorado.

The Wyoming Cowgirls have a new head volleyball in Chad Callihan who comes in from Georgia Southern. Callihan has been with the school for 5 years and the team went 25-7 this past season. Callihan was named the Southern Conference Coach of the Year. He also served as an assistant at Georgia and head coach at Appalachian State and Radford. Callihan replaces Carrie Yerty who resigned out of the blue at the beginning of the month.

The Colorado Avalanche have hired goal tending legend Patrick Roy as their new head coach. He won 2 Stanley Cups with the Av's and 2 more with Montreal. For the last 8 years, Roy has been the coach and general manager for a junior team in Canada. The Avalanche have not made the playoffs the last 3 years and finished dead last in the Western Conference this past season.

In the Stanley Cup playoffs, defending champion the Los Angeles Kings will return to the finals as they beat San Jose 2-1 to win the Western Conference finals 4 games to three. The Kings will play either Chicago or Detroit as they play the decisive 7th game of the Eastern Conference finals tonight in Chicago.

In Major League baseball, the Colorado Rockies earned a split in their 2 game series with Houston, pulling out a 2-1 win Tuesday night. Michael Cuddyer drove in the go ahead run in the top of the 9th inning for the win. The Rockies return home tonight to host the Astros.

In the NBA playoffs, Indiana beat Miami 99-92 to even the Eastern Conference finals at 2 games apiece. Roy Hibbert led the Pacers with 23 points and 12 rebounds.
