KW/NC Splits Peach Basket Classic

The Casper high school basketball teams went at it on Thursday night at the Events Center with the Peach Basket Classic. Natrona defeated Kelly Walsh 67-40 in the girls game as Abby Switzer led the Fillies with 17 points. NC improved to 6-0 in the 4A west and 11-5 overall. KW dropped to 3-3 in conference play and 6-9 overall. Its the 6th consecutive year that Natrona has won the Peach Basket trophy and 12 of the last 14 years.

On the boys side, Kelly Walsh prevailed over Natrona 49-31 to up their record to 4-2 in 4A West play and 11-4 overall. . The Trojans were led in scoring by Tanner Hildebrand with 16 as they built a substantial lead over the Mustangs by halftime. NC drops to 5-1 in conference play and 9-7 overall. KW also wins the Peach Basket Trophy for the 3rd straight year. the KW boys and girls will be at Evanston on Friday the 20th. The NC teams will be at Riverton a week from Friday.
