More rodeo tonight in Casper with the PRCA event at the Central Wyoming Fairgrounds. A lot of Wyoming participating cowboys in the rodeo last night. Gillette's Bobby Welch with a 75 in the bullriding. Team roper Jhett Johnson along with Jake Barnes had a no time. In the bareback, former world champion Kelly Timberman of Mills looks to have secured a spot in tomorrow's final with a 79. Former Casper College cowboy and Cowley native J.R. Vezain will not make the finals with a 75. But Vezain is having a great year. Currently 6th in world standings. Finished first in Cody and leading the rodeo in Sheridan this week. The rodeo continues tonight at the fairgrounds at 7:30.

In American Legion baseball, the Casper Oilers are hosting the Mike Devereaux Tournament. The Oilers will play Thompson Valley, Colorado tonight at 8pm. Then Casper will play twice on Saturday evening at 5:30 and 8:00pm against a couple of Canadian teams. Then wrap up play Sunday with Jackson. The Oilers are 29-26 and coming off a conference win at Gillette on Wednesday.

The Casper Cutthroats lost at Laramie Thursday night 8-4. The Cutthroats 16-14 continue to play in Laramie tonight.

Wyoming High School Activities Association Commissioner Ron Laird has retired, but only for a month. He retired on June 30th, and then will be rehired on August 1st. Associate Commissioner Trevor Wilson is the acting commissioner during the month of July.
