For the third time this season, senior forward Chaundra Sewell has been named Mountain West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played from March 5-10, 2013.  It is the third MW weekly accolade Sewell has earned this season and of her career. She shares the honor with UNLV forward Rejane Verin.

Sewell, a senior from Broomfield, Colo., led the Cowgirls to a 65-51 win over Colorado State last week, the Wyoming’s only game of the week.  Sewell scored 22 points and grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds, including eight offensive boards. The double-double was her 11th of the season. She shot 60.0 percent (9-15) from the field and was 4-6 (66.7 percent) from the free throw line to go along with two assists and a steal.

Wyoming is getting ready to face Colorado State in the quarterfinal round of the 2013 Reese's Mountain West Basketball Championships Thursday in Las Vegas. Game time is at 9:30 p.m. Mountain time. You can listen to Cowgirl basketball on KOWB. Broadcast coverage will start at 9 p.m.
