Some visitors are relieved to find that Wyoming, actually does indeed have indoor plumbing. However, if you still want to experience the "relief" of the wild west... there's a massive outhouse just for you in the small town of Encampment.

The population 450 community on the Wyoming/Colorado border was once a booming mine town. It's mining and sawmill history are now only on display at the Grand Encampment Museum.

Also, on display at the museum... a two story outhouse.

According to the museum curator, most think the double-decker outhouse was built to keep up with the demand of users. However, in true Wyoming style, the actual reason was because the bottom level was often buried by snow in the winter.
