The Wyoming State 2A girls and boys basketball tournament begins on Thursday. Both the 2A and 1A games will be played at the Casper Events Center, Casper College and Kelly Walsh High School.
The Peach Basket Classic pitting Natrona and Kelly Walsh will be tonight from Swede Erickson Gym at Casper College. The girls game is set to tip-off at 6:00 with the pregame show at 5:45 pm on AM 1400 ESPN.
The final 2A and 1A girls basketball polls from wyopreps.com/Coach's/Media is out today. Lovell and Snake River head into the post season as the number one ranked teams.
The top two teams in 4A girls basketball stumbled last week. Top ranked Sheridan lost to third ranked Gillette 74-59 and second ranked Laramie lost to unranked Cheyenne East 52-49.
The latest wyopreps.com/Coach's/Media girls basketball polls has Sheridan, Douglas, Lovell and Snake River remaining number one this week. Sheridan and Lovell picked up enough polling points to remain on top despite losses last week.
Sheridan was knocked from the unbeaten ranks last weekend as Laramie beat the two top teams in 4A. The Lady Plainsmen beat number one Sheridan 69-58 and number two Gillette 46-44.
Sheridan, Douglas, Lovell and Snake River remain on top in the latest Wyopreps.com/Coach's/Media girls basketball polls. All four number one teams each picked up two wins last week, although 2A's Lovell Lady Bulldogs lost to third ranked Cody Fillies of 3A 49-43 on Tuesday night.
The Sheridan Lady Broncs remain perfect on the season with a couple wins over the Cheyenne schools last week. Going into the final three weeks of the regular season Sheridan is 17-0.
Both Casper Kelly Walsh and Natrona sports teams are busy this weekend home and away. The Natrona boys basketball teams have a couple of home games tonight and Saturday.
Sheridan, Douglas, Lovell and Snake River remain number one in their respective classes in the lastest Wyopreps.com, Coach's and Media girls basketball polls this week. Sheridan not only remains on top of the 4A poll, but is the lone unbeaten in all of Wyoming high school girls basketball at 15-0.
