Detroit now has a 3 games to none lead in the American League Championship Series after a 2-1 win over the New York Yankees on Tuesday night in Detroit. Tiger pitcher Justin Verlander retired the first 10 batters he faced and gave up one run in 8 1/3-innings of work. Verlander in the post season is 3-0 with an ERA of 0.74. The Tigers had thrown 20 consecutive shut-out innings until the Yankees scored in the ninth inning. Game 4 of the series will be tonight. Game 3 of the National League Championship Series will be this afternoon  as St. Louis will play host to San Francisco with that series even at a game apiece.

High School football wraps up the regular season this weekend. The second to the last Wyopreps.com/Coach's/Media poll is out and the 5 teams ranked number one remain on top. Natrona, Powell, Lyman, Cokeville and Dubois. And all five along with Gillette, Big Horn, Newcastle and Lusk remain unbeaten going into the final regular season games. There are two matchups with unbeatens going head-to-head. Natrona will host Gillette in the Prep Game of the Week on AM 1400 ESPN. The other matchup in 2A has Newcastle at Big Horn.
